Northern Cheyenne Tribal ID Services coming to Billings, Montana

On Thursday, January 30th, 2025, Northern Cheyenne Tribal members residing in Billings, Montana, and the surrounding area began forming a line outside the Billings First Church located at 310 North 27th St. They were there to obtain their essential Northern Cheyenne Tribal ID cards.
This initiative was launched in response to the shifting political landscape and growing concerns of Tribal members in regards to ICE. To promote and ensure the safety of the Northern Cheyenne Tribal members, the Northern Cheyenne Enrollment Department, along with various members of the Northern Cheyenne Tribal Council, organized a two-day event in Billings, Montana. The top priority is to serve those members who do not possess a Tribal ID and face challenges in traveling back to the Northern Cheyenne Reservation in Lame Deer, Montana.

In addition to their efforts, they are also providing financial assistance to those who are in need of their Tribal ID, but may not be able to afford it at this time. The setup will be operational from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Friday, January 30th, 2025. The Northern Cheyenne Tribe is hopeful that in the near future, they will be able to extend their outreach by traveling to additional cities offering Tribal ID services to more of their valued membership.
By the end of the day on Friday, January 31st, 2025, thanks to the collective efforts of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe over 250 Northern Cheyenne Tribal members received their Tribal ID cards.
